Mikkel Boedker on the Trade Block

mikkel boedker nhl trade deadline rumors

The Arizona Coyotes are looking to move Mikkel Boedker before the Feb 29 NHL trade deadline. UFA Boedker will not be re-signed by the Coyotes because of his contract demands of $6M per season.

Dimitri Filipovic of Sportsnet says:

I mean, in those reports that the Coyotes were trying to work out a long term deal with him because he’s an impending free agent this summer and he was asking for like $6M a year on a long term deal, and…I would be very wary of something like that. I think he’s a perfectly fine player and if he’s playing sort of in your middle six, kind of moving between the second line and the third line, that’s perfectly reasonable and he can be productive.

Boedker, who is a 26 year old left winger, is having a productive season with 13 goals and 26 assists in 62 games played. The Coyotes aren't willing to meet his demands of $6M per season, and want to trade him.

The Anaheim Ducks, St. Louis Blues and Pittsburgh Penguins are in a bidding war over Mikkel Boedker. The price to acquire Boedker is a first round draft pick.
