Patrick Marleau on fire after first season game with Leafs

Toronto is new territory for Marleau, 38, who spent his previous 19 NHL seasons with the San Jose Sharks, far from the white-hot hockey spotlight.

After his first game with the Blue and White, Marleau made a very good impression by scoring 2 goals. Leafs' forward Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner were credited with assists on the goal.

Thirty-six seconds into the third period, Marleau found the back of the net for the second time. He forced the Jets to pull Mason from the game as Marleau's latest goal put the Leafs up 5-0.
