MONSTER TRADE RUMOR: Carey Price to Edmonton

In the past 10 games, both the Canadiens and the Edmonton Oilers have underperformed as they're both 27 and 28th in the League respectively after being in the top 10 teams last season. Both teams need to find a way to win this season if they want to make the playoffs.

We all knew the Habs would have difficulty this season after losing longtime veteran Andrei Markov and Alexander Radulov to free agency last season. The Oilers however were expected to be competing big time in their division but they're at the bottom with the Arizona Coyotes.

Montreal Gazette's Stu Cowan has stipulated that the Canadiens could be hiding something about Carey Price's "minor" injury and maybe they're preping to trade the star goaltender before his 8-year, $84M contract kicks in.

Cowan turns his attention to the Edmonton Oilers. Edmonton goaltender Cam Talbot has struggled so far this season putting up only 7 wins, 10 losses and 1 OTL. Talbot has allowed an average of 3.10 goals per game so far, which is pretty disturbing since last season he had an average of only 2.39.

The names that have been thrown out there are more along the lines of Leon Draisaitl and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins. But also RNH has been in a trade involving Montreal captain Max Pacioretty. For sure a Draisaitl-Price trade seems inconceivable, but Edmonton GM Peter Chiarelli has surprised us all by trading big names such as Tyler Seguin and Taylor Hall amongst others.
