Waiver wire: former 20+ goal scorer put on waivers

The Philadelphia Flyers have put Matt Read on waivers for the second time this month. This season, he has 0 points in 4 games.

Read notched 20 goals twice in his 6 almost 7 season career, including his rookie season where he hit the 20 goal plateau and had 47 points in 79 games. Since his rookie season, the winger has had difficulty producing on the ice in the Flyers' uniform.

Last season, the winger hit an 19 point season. Currently in the last season of a 4-year, $14.5M contract. Which means that this end of the season, he will become an UFA and could be a good rental for the next team to pick him up.

Read was signed by the Flyers as an undrafted player back in 2011.
