Five SHL Stars that the NHL should be following

Swedish players, and players from the Swedish league, have a history of coming to America and making things happen. They have managed to influence hockey in the biggest league in the world and proven themselves to be excellent competitors.

It can, at first, seem like NHL teams are gambling big time when they seek to bring in Swedish players. When they announce they are making a big investment, you wonder if they might have been better going to canadiancasinosonline.com and spending their money on the excellent range of games and taking advantage of the great offers there. Playing fun and exciting online blackjack is surely better than watching your latest Swedish signing struggle and fail on the ice, whether you are a fan or a GM.

However when you look at players like Henrik Lundqvist at the New York Rangers or John Klingberg at the Dallas Stars, you start to realise that maybe their might be some value in the market. Some Swedish stars are currently strutting their stuff in Pyeongchang at the winter olympics with, as bbc.co.uk points out, has no NHL stars. NHL teams might then decided to dip into the SHL again, here are five players they should be considering.

Pär Lindholm
Skelleftea are having a much better year than many expected them to and Lindholm is one of the key reasons for that, the 26 year old Swedish forward has already bagged 43 points in 43 matches and is showing that he has supreme talent. He opened the scoring in Sweden’s winter olympics campaign as they beat Norway 4-0.

Dick Axelsson
Axelsson briefly had an NHL chance but didn't manage to grab it. However he is far more mature now and is ready to go back to the big time. He is starring for Farestad in Sweden and is their top points scorer. He impressed enough to be selected for the Winter Olympics.

Mikael Wikstrand
One of Axelsson’s teammate, he scored Sweden’s final goal against Norway despite being a defenceman. He is really strong, quick and can read the game very well ensuring he rarely makes mistakes and stops teams from scoring. He would fit in at an NHL side and goes about his business without making too much of a fuss.

Adam Reideborn
The best goaltender in the SHL this season, Reidebron has conceded less than two goals a game as he has acted like a man mountain in goalkeeping out attackers and winning matches for Djurgarden. They look like they might be able to compete for the title and a lot of it is down to this 26 year old.

Mattias Tedenby
Tedenby might not have have scored that many goals, but when he has, they have been very important. Seven of his goals have led to match win for his side, he is the man who always steps up for HV71 and would be able to do the same in the NHL. He is only 27 so still has time to improve and he is utterly lethal in front of goal.
