BREAKING: Hurricanes and Coyotes Make a Deal

It's not every day you see a trade during the playoffs, but the Hurricanes and Coyotes have made a deal.

The Arizona Coyotes have acquired Marcus Kruger and a 3rd-round pick in 2018 in exchange for Jordan Martinook and a 4th round pick in 2018.

Kruger split time between the NHL and AHL this season, and could only score 1 goal and 6 points in 48 NHL games this season.

Martinook managed to get 6 goals and 15 points in 81 games this season, slightly better but nothing spectacular.

The Hurricanes retain 10% of Kruger's salary, leaving his cap hit at 2.775 million per season until July of 2019. Martinook's contract remains untouched, at 1.8 million until July of next year as well.
