Slava Voynov return to NHL

slava voynov return to nhl

Slava Voynov has not been cleared to play in the NHL yet. On Sunday, NHL Deputy Commissioner, Bill Daly, said that Voynov’s return is contingent on completing a process with the league to review his case that would determine the parameters for his eligibility.

The defenseman pleaded no contest to a domestic violence charge stemming from an October 2014 incident with his wife, but the LA Kings terminated Voynov’s $25 million contract in 2015. As a result, Voynov was forced to play the last three seasons in Russia for SKA St. Petersburg of the KHL.

A judge dismissed the misdemeanour domestic abuse conviction against Voynov last month, paving Voynov's way to return to the NHL. Voynov needs to complete a process with the league to be reinstated and play again.
