BREAKING: Ryan Spooner Traded to Vancouver

It looks like the Oilers aren't done trading players yet, as they've pulled off another deal.

The Vancouver Canucks have acquired Ryan Spooner from the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for Sam Gagner.

Since being acquired by the Oilers in exchange for Ryan Strome, Spooner has scored 2 goals and 3 points in 25 games with Edmonton.

Gagner has spent the majority of the season with the Toronto Marlies of the AHL, for personal reasons. In 7 games with Vancouver this season, he has scored 1 goal and 3 points.
With the Marlies, he has collected 37 points in 43 AHL games.

This doesn't appear to be a cap-clearing move for the Oilers, like the Cam Talbot trade. Both players were sent to the minors, and had much of their cap buried. They both have another season left on their contracts, and Sam Gagner actually has the higher cap hit than Spooner (3.15 million vs. 3.1 million).
