Report: Sens trying to get a deal done with Stone and made Duchene available

According to NHL insider Elliotte Friedman, the Ottawa Senators and Mark Stone's camp have re-engaged in discussions over the past few days for an extension.

With the Ottawa Senators in dire need to re-sign some of their top players. With Mark Stone, Matt Duchene and surprisingly Ryan Dzingel having some very good seasons so far this season, they will all need extensions before they hit the free agency market.

Rumors have it that both Stone and Duchene are asking roughly the same amount in contracts, which is around $7-9 million.
Ottawa and Mark Stone have re-engaged in discussions over the past few days to see if there is common ground on an extension. Meanwhile, the Senators have made Matt Duchene available, and expect those talks to heat up over the next few days, Friedman stated on Twitter.
A team linked to acquiring Stone according to Sportsnet's Chris Johnston is the Vegas Golden Knights, but due to the fact that the Sens are trying to sign Stone sooner than later, Vegas will just have to wait. As for Duchene, talks have cooled off recently, and an extension doesn't seem to be on the table anymore. The Senators have quietly put number 95's name out there and would be willing to trade Duchene if the right return comes their way.
