Rumor: Henrik Lundqvist wants out of New York

After being the staple netminder for the Rangers for over the past decade, it seems as if Henrik Lundqvist finally wants out of New York.

After spending the past 14 seasons with the New York Rangers, goaltender Henrik Lundqvist is unsure about his future with the organization.
I don’t know if I will stay with the Rangers throughout my career, Lundqvist told Expressen. I have two years left on my contract and it has been my goal to remain a Ranger. But when you get up in the years you never know. I have my own agenda, but if the club wants something else, I have to be sensitive to it. You can’t run your own race. It‘s not always the dream, let’s be realistic. We’ll see how it gets.
Lundqvist clearly states that his time in New York may come to an end very soon. At 37-years old, Lundqvist played 857 games all in the Rangers uniform where he went 449-298-93. Lundqvist was a one of the key players that brought the New York Rangers to the 2014 Stanley Cup Final against the Los Angeles Kings where they ultimately lost in double overtime in Game 5.
