Rumor: William Nylander Traded to the Nashville Predators

One year removed from his contract dispute, the frame work is in place to send William Nylander to Nashville.

This rumor has been circulating for the past 24 hours with one source saying that both teams are waiting for the July 1st deadline to pass as the Leafs are on the hook for a whooping $8,000,000 signing bonus at that time.

Our digging however, has not turned up exactly what the return would be. It is believed the Maple Leafs covet right shoot d-man Ryan Ellis or the cap friendly Mattias Ekholm.

Both teams seem to need what the other has in abundance. The Preds have been challenged offensively of late, in particular on the power play where they were ranked 30th in the league this past season.

Nylander is a power play specialist with creative play making ability and a knack for putting the puck in the net when his team is up a man.

Unless you live under a rock, you have heard all about the Leafs defence. Ideally they would like to acquire a right shot top pairing D man, but with the imminent departure of Jake Gardiner looming, any upgrade would surly do.

If this rumor is indeed a fact, hold on to your hats as the internet might just melt down.
