Rumor: The New Jersey Devils are closing in on an offer sheet

The NHL Free Agency period is now a week old and we have seen it all over the past 7 days. It appears it's just getting started. According to sources, another offer sheet could be on the way, as the New Jersey Devils are close to pulling the trigger.

Both Patrik Laine and Mitch Marner have been internally discussed by the Devils, as Gm, Ray Shero is in a perfect position to pounce. With Taylor Hall a pending free agent, a mountain of cap space, all their picks, signing say Patrik Laine would give the team another core piece for this season, and if Hall walks, gives the team a star to pair Jack Hughes up with moving forward.

The Devils have been one of the busiest teams this offseason and they are not done. Their owner is pushing for the team to take the extra step, and Shero has been given permission to go for it.

Should the Devils drop an offer sheet bomb on the Jets or the Leafs?
