Rumor: Buffalo Sabres send trade offer to the LA Kings

The Buffalo Sabres currently sit with 23 points after 22 goals this season and are 3 points out of a wild card spot in the Eastern Conference. The team has been struggling of late, commencing a 1-7-2 record in the past 10 games. Changes are coming.

TSN's Darren Dreger mentioned on insider trading recently:
Jason Botterill, the GM of the Sabres, has, in fact, made offers on forwards but the system is gummed up a little bit - the financial system of the NHL. There are some out there that believe that Botterill is feeling a sense of urgency of he'd like to make at least one, maybe even two, trades in the next week or two weeks. But he's got to find the right fit and the right match.
The Sabres have been in contact with the LA Kings and have made an offer for forward Tyler Toffoli which included one of Marco Scandella or Zach Bogosian, to balance out the money, along with a 2nd round pick. The Kings are said to be waiting on the market for Toffoli to unfold, as the right winger is heating up as has 6 goals and 12 points, after a very slow start.

The Sabres are looking to move from their defensive depth to find forwards who can score and compliment their group up front.  Jack Eichel is sick of losing and wants some help.

Is Toffoli the answer?
