Rumor: New Jersey Devils receive trade offer for Taylor Hall

The New Jersey Devils recently met with the agent for Taylor Hall during the teams' west coast Canadian road trip and the news wasn't good if you are a Devils fan, as Hall's agent informed the team he will not be signing an extension during the season.

Devils GM, Ray Shero now has to weigh his options to get a sense of the direction of his team. Shero's options are coming to fruition as according to sources connected to the Devils management team, the team has received an offer from the Colorado Avalanche.

The offer is to be centered around draft picks and prospects - RHD Connor Timmins and forward Shane Bowers, however, it appears the Avs are reluctant to include at this time, top defensive prospect Bowen Byram, their 4th overall selection from a year ago. Perhaps a Hall extension upon the trade can change the Avs mind, but at this time, they are looking to stay away from dealing their top prospect for a rental.

It appears it's only a matter of time before Hall is dealt. Will the Avs have enough to make a deal or will other teams jump in the sweepstakes. Interesting times in New Jersey continue.
