Lafreniere Ruled Out Against Germany

Assistant coach Andre Tourigny stated that Lafreniere is ruled out of Monday's game against Germany, but he could return later in the tournament.
His status is still unknown. Lafreniere suffered a left knee injury early in the second period of Canada's game against Russia.

"We have nothing firm. We don't know yet, but he's walking right now so that's positive. The doc said it's positive news that we've gotten so far." - Andre Tourigny

Tourigny also confirmed that an MRI of Lafreniere's knee revealed that he did not have any fractures or torn ligaments. Canada will certainly miss the presence of the projected 1st overall forward in their lineup as they seek to redeem themselves after yesterday's performance.
