Maple Leafs' Ilya Mikheyev Suffers Scary Injury Against Devils

As the Toronto Maple Leafs and New Jersey Devils were battling in the 3rd period of tonight's game, the crowd at the Prudential Center was in for a great shock. As Ilya Mikheyev was backchecking into the defensive zone, the skate of Devils' forward, Jesper Bratt, clipped his wrist and severely cut him.
A short moment after the incident, Mikheyev realized he had suffered a severe laceration and immediately skated to the Maple Leaf Bench. It has been reported that there was a trail of blood across the Leafs' defensive zone.

The Toronto Maple Leafs Public Relations has Tweeted an update on the situation.

This is the second severe laceration in the NHL within the past few weeks. New York Islanders' Cal Clutterbuck has been ruled out indefinitely after enduring a gruesome wrist laceration against the Bruins on December 19th, 2019. We hope these players recover and get back into action as soon as possible.
