Rumor: Calgary Flames Willing to Move Star Players

The Calgary Flames could be looking to trade a star player.

Eric Francis of Sportsnet reports that he believes the Flames will make a move that could involve a core piece if they fail to make the post season or if they fail to make it past the first round again. Francis cited Johnny Gaudreau and Sean Monahan as likely candidates to be moved.

Several teams would be interested in Johnny Gaudreau should the Flames be willing to move him. Gaudreau is an east coast kid, born in New Jersey. Sean Couturier, Travis Konecny would be of possible interest to the Calgary Flames. The Philadelphia Flyers new GM Chuck Fletcher is believed to be looking to upgrade his forwards. It is believed that the Flames are not actively shopping their star duo but, GM Brad Treliving would listen and be open to a move should the right offer present itself.
