Breaking: Ilya Kovalchuk signs two-way deal with Montreal

The Habs are slipping of late and are in need of some scoring punch. The team has decided to sign free agent, Ilya Kovalchuk to a one-year, two-way deal for $700,000.

The deal is very low-risk for the Habs as it's just for the remainder of this season. Kovalchuk isn't what he used to be, however, he could be the spark the team so desperately needs.

Kovy currently sits with 897 NHL games played, 436 goals and 859 points, in what's going to go down as a very successful career.

From Russia with love, Kovalchuk is back in his favorite colors, white, red and blue.
