NHLTR: PK Subban wants out of New Jersey

PK Subban never asked to be traded out of Montreal, he never asked to be moved from Nashville, but his tone has certainly changed with being a New Jersey Devil. According to one of PK's ex-teammates, PK Subban has approached Devils GM, Ray Shero about facilitating a trade.

The text message from our source included:
PK's let the Devils know he prefers to not be a part of a rebuild and asked the team to move him to a team with playoff hopes. He's on the other side of 30 now and isn't comfortable in Jersey. It's a catch 22 for him because he's close to New York, but him not performing is wearing on him and he wants out. The struggle is real.
PK has managed only 8 points in 39 games and he has no ambition to be apart of a rebuild. The Devils are at least 3 years away so moving Subban for some young assets, much like the Taylor Hall deal, makes a ton of sense for the club.

Look for the Devils to have to retain roughly $1.5-$3 million in salary, but by doing so, it will sweeten the return they receive in the deal.

More to come.
