Rumor: Pittsburgh Penguins to acquire Jason Zucker

It has been widely reported that Minnesota Wild Forward Jason Zucker has been on the trade Block ever since Wild GM Bill Guerin took over last year. There was a reported trade last year that was blocked by then Pittsburgh Penguin Phil Kessel. It now appears the Pens still have interest in the 28 year old Zucker.

A deal between the Penguins and Jason Zucker would be centered around Pittsburgh Forward Alex Galchenyuk and a young roster player. Teddy Blueger and defenseman Jusso Riikola are possible additions that would interest Minnesota.

Jason Zucker makes $5.5 million per year and has 3 years left on his current deal. Alex Galchenyuk grew up not far from Minnesota (Milwaukee) and is a UFA at seasons end. A change of scenery could be just the thing needed to jumpstart both players careers.
