Video; Alex Ovechkin makes history with career goal 690

There we have it folks, Alex Ovechkin has scored his 690th career goal against the New York Islanders on Saturday, placing him in a tie for 10th all-time in the NHL record books.

OV has tied Mario Lemieux in the 10th spot, as the Capitals superstar walked in a ripped a wrister past Isles' netminder Semyon Varlamov. Ov's first goal on Saturday was his 6th in the past 3 games.

Ovechkin now sits two goals behind Steve Yzerman for ninth on the list and only four behind Mark Messier for eighth and 18 behind Mike Gartner for seventh all-tome.
