Report: Vegas and Winnipeg finalizing trade

The Vegas Golden Knights recently picked up defenseman Alec Martinez from the LA Kings and were looking for ways to shed some salary. Today they found it with a deal with the Winnipeg Jets.

The deal includes forward Cody Eakin heading to the Jets with a conditional 4th round pick heading the other way.

The UFA to be is making $3.85 million on the cap this season and has 10 points in 41 games. The Jets had been looking to add a versatile forward who can take some faceoffs as Bryan Little will be out long term.

A source tells NHLTR that the Vegas Golden Knights may not be done on the trade front so keep tabs on Vegas as we creep to the deadline on Monday.
