Rumor: Colorado and Chicago working on a deadline deal

The Colorado Avalanche are gearing up for what they hope is their longest playoff run in a decade, and GM, Joe Sakic knows, he may need another piece or two to get over the hump. Insert, Brandon Saad.

The Blackhawks and Avalanche continue to discuss the parameters of a trade which includes the likes of Brandon Saad leaving Chicago and Tyson Jost going back the other way.

Saad is a hot commodity, as his 18 goals in 49 games is appealing to teams looking for secondary scoring. He kills penalties and with 72 playoff games under his belt, his experience is something the young Avs can lean on this spring.

Keep an eye on the Avalanche over the next 24 hours, as all the insiders in hockey are suggesting a big move is coming and it may all start with Brandon Saad.
