Rumor: Devils and Penguins finalizing trade

The Pittsburgh Penguins are getting ready to load up for the playoffs and as per usual with GM, Jim Rutherford, the Pens got a jump on the trade market with the deal for Jason Zucker a couple of weeks ago. It appears they aren't done.

Elliotte Freidman mentioned on HNIC on Saturday night, the Pens and Devils are talking trade and Wayne Simmonds is the target.

As Pittsburgh doesn't own it's 1st and 2nd round picks in June's draft, it's believed Jim Rutherford is looking to move his 3rd round pick in 2021 to facilitate the deal.

Simmonds has 24 points in 61 games, which isn't anything to write home about, however, the Pens are looking for Simmonds to grind in those dirty areas and muck it up in the playoffs. His 44 games of playoff experience is what stands out for the team.

Keep an eye on the Pens as they are going hard after free agent Zach Bogosian as well, and appear to be the front runners for Wayne Simmonds.
