Rumor: Maple Leafs offer for Ducks Josh Manson revealed

The Toronto Maple Leafs are trying desperately to add a RHD with term on his contract before next Monday's deadline and they have zeroed in on a few names. These include the Anaheim Ducks - Josh Manson and rumor has it a decent package was sent to the west coast for pondering.

To the Maple Leafs: Josh Manson

To the Ducks: Alexander Kerfoot, Cody Ceci, and prospect RHD Mac Hollowell

The deal gives the Leafs a tough, in your face type of defenseman they so desperately need for the right-side of their defense. Manson is under contract another 2 seasons at $4.1 million per season and would fit in perfectly moving forward for the Leafs.

Meanwhile, for the Ducks it allows them to find some forward depth for down the middle, as Kerfoot is a versatile forward on a value contract, and with the likes of Ryan Getzlaf not signed long term, could provide the Ducks with some much needed offense should 'Getzy' leave town after his deal. Also gives them the ability to sign Ceci for the cheap next season and give him a look, and Mac Hollowell is one of the Leafs best prospects and has tremendous offensive upside from the back-end.

The Ducks will only move Manson if the deal 'blows their socks off' according to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet. It's a wait-and-see time right now in California, and isn't it hard to blow people's socks off when they normally wear sandals on the beach?
