Rumor: Offer revealed for Maple Leafs Tyson Barrie

The Toronto Maple Leafs made recent head waves when TSN hockey insider Bob McKenzie made it be known the team was willing to part with defenseman Tyson Barrie. Hockey's best insider went on to mention the Vancouver Canucks have been in contact and the Leafs were pondering the offer.

A lot of this trade has to do with what the Leafs can do with the assets they receive for Barrie, and Leafs GM, Kyle Dubas is only interested in making a deal if the second deal is ready to go soon after. Dubas is basically negotiating and mediating at the same time.

The offer from the Canucks is rumored to have included prospect Olli Juolevi and a conditional pick should Barrie sign an extension in Vancouver, which is quite likely as Barrie is from the area.

It's been tough sledding for Barrie early on in his tenure with the Leafs, but ever since the team got a new coach and Morgan Rielly went down with injury, Barrie has been playing as expected. The only way the Leafs deal him is if the return that eventually lands back into the Leafs lineup, is something they feel is an upgrade for the short term and long term over Barrie.
