Jaromir Jagr's playing career may have just ended on a sour note

Jaromir Jagr is a living legend in the world of hockey and his home country of the Czech Republic. Jagr despite leaving in the prime of his career for the KHL for three seasons is second all-time in the NHL in points, only behind Wayne Gretzky. Jagr's impressive NHL totals are 766 goals(3rd all-time) 1155 assists(5th all-time) 1921 points(2nd all-time). All good things must come to an end and it now appears the 48-year-old Jagr's time may have come.

Jaromir Jagr has spent the last few years playing for Kladno of the Czech Extraliga, which Jagr is also the owner of the team. The tough news for Jagr and his team is they lost a relegation game earlier this week, where the loser of the game gets dropped out of the Czech Republic's top league and will have to start next season in the Chanceliga(Czech second-tier league). This is like the Detroit Red Wings playing the Ottawa Senators at the end of the year and the loser plays in the AHL next year, that's one way to discourage tanking.

Even at the age of 48, Jagr still put up 15 goals and 14 assists in 37 games for Kladno. Kladno lost to Litvinov 6-2 in what may turn out to be Jagr's last professional game of his legendary career. In an interview earlier this year, Jagr would not reveal if this would be his last season in professional hockey. It is hard to imagine Jagr would end his career playing in a second-tier league, he can walk away any time with a legacy set in stone.
