Quinn Hughes gives cocky response when asked about Calder

The difference between cocky and confident is a fine line, and it appears Quinn Hughes loves to walk the line, much like when he has the puck on the blue line. The super rookie of the Vancouver Canucks has lots to say, and recently he was asked about the rookie of the year award, and let's just say, he may not know how to spell humble.

When asked about being considered for the Calder, Hughes had this to say to the media:
Yeah for sure, I think so. I'm not the one making the call, but especially the last 30 game, I don't know if anyone has been better than me. I haven't surprised myself because I thought I would do really well. I've been doing this my whole life, so why would I be surprised? At the same time, you think you're going to do well, but you never know how things are going to go. So I'm humbled by that.
First he said he's the best, and then finishes it off by saying he's humbled by it all. Ironic.

The 20-year-old took home the Rookie of the Month honors in February and currently leads all rookies in points. If it was up to Hughes, he would be your Calder winner.

We shall wait and see how it all plays out over the last quarter of the season. One thing we do know, Quinn Hughes is a big fan of Quinn Hughes.
