Rumor: Details revealed about Ryan Getzlaf trade falling through

Ryan Getzlaf has played over 1000 games for the Anaheim Ducks, collecting 964 points along the way. With 120 points in 125 playoff games, Getzlaf has also been front and center in Anaheim, even when it matters most. With his riding mate Corey Perry being bought out last off season, it appears it's now 'Getzy' time to consider a change. If it were up to the Ducks the change would of happened at the trade deadline.

Rumors out of California include the Ducks and Islanders had a trade in place to send Getzlaf to Long Island, but as they were working out the final details, that's where the Ottawa Senators jumped in and sold JG Pageau to Islanders management.

The Ducks deal included prospect Josh Ho-Sang, a 1st round pick and a 3rd round pick. The Ducks continued to ask for more, as the team wasn't sold on being able to sell the move to their fans. Meanwhile, the Senators jumped in and stole the bank. Look for more Getzlaf talk around the draft, as the Ducks continue to monitor the market.

Timing is everything.
