Rumor: Justin Faulk done in St Louis

According to Jeremy Rutherford of The Athletic, the St Louis Blues are expected to expose Justin Faulk for the 2021/22 expansion draft for Seattle's franchise. The Blues rear-guard was acquired from the Carolina Hurricanes and has been nothing short of a disappointment since joining the defending Cup champs.

So much so, Faulk's been asked about it numerous times and had this to say recently to the media:
Inconsistent. I had [games] that were good, and I didn’t always follow that up. I wasn’t as aggressive as I needed to be. I probably sat back a little too much and let the game come to me
With the recent word from Alex Pietrangelo that he would have had a extension signed by now and with the Blues already having Colton Parayko on their right-side signed for cheaper than Faulk, the Blues are protecting their best assets. Throw in Vince Dunn to that mix as well.

For Faulk, he's only managed 16 points in 69 games, which is a far cry from what he's put up in the past.

As Rutherford mentions in his article, if you see extensions for Pietrangelo and forward Jaden Schwartz with the Blues, the writing is on the wall for Faulk.

Talk about buyer's remorse....
