3 potential destinations for Patrick Marleau

Patrick Marleau wants to break Gordie Howe's record of most games played all time and is just 44 games behind the legend, he also wants to do it in a teal sweater. The 40-year-old veteran who tried to chase his Cup with the Penguins, is reportedly going to eventually sign back in San Jose to play next season.

According to the Athletic's Kevin Kurz, the desire is to play next year, and it's to play back in San Jose.

The veteran appeared to struggle in the elimination series vs the Canadiens and some wondered if this was it once the Pens got eliminated. It doesn't appear so.

Expect the Sharks to fill their roster and have Marleau as the last piece at the league minimum.

If the Sharks decide thanks but no thanks, the only other two teams Marleau would even slightly consider are the Toronto Maple Leafs and Pittsburgh Penguins. However, both those teams appear to have sailed their ships on the iron man.  If Marleau comes back, it will be in teal.
