History made as 4 players kneel during the National Anthems

Ryan Reaves and Robin Lehner of the Vegas Golden Knights decided it was time to showcase their feelings towards ending racism, police brutality and social injustice and they sent an open invitation to the Dallas Stars bench to join them. Reaves approached Tyler Seguin of the Stars and let him know both he and Lehner would be kneeling and Seguin was quick to jump on board and so was teammate Jason Dickinson.

This marked the first time 4 players kneeled during both anthems of a hockey game and it's certainly not going to be the last. For the Golden Knights' Lehner, it gave him a second chance at making a statement after he wasn't happy with himself for showing support for President Donald Trump.
I made a mistake once, putting a Trump sticker on my mask,” Lehner said via Zoom conference call Monday. “That is something I regret now… At the end of the day it’s about human rights, not politics.
Reaves made mention of the reason he choose to kneel, saying:
This country isn't free for everywhere, that's where I'm coming from
Here's what Tyler Seguin had to say on the matter, as he wasn't completely shocked Reaves approached him in warm-up:
I talked to Reaves in warmups, and he said he’s been seeing what I’ve been doing in Dallas, and he said him and Lehner were going to kneel and if I’d like to join them,” Seguin said Monday via Zoom call. “I said ‘Absolutely,’ so I joined them. So before the game, I went in the dressing room and just told (my team) what I was doing. I said there was absolutely no pressure to do anything.Dickinson grabbed me and said he’d like to be part of it and support his beliefs and my beliefs and support me as a teammate, and it was great to have him there as well. But definitely being two white guys, to do what we did, I wanted to be a part of that movement if there was an opportunity. I can’t say honestly I was going to go out there on my own and take a knee, but with them having a black player on their team, and his beliefs, and how I’ve said from Day 1, I’m going to back it up in ways that I can…that’s why I chose to support that and why I’m very proud ‘Dickie’ did, for standing up and doing what he believes as well
The movement continues...
