Maple Leafs head coach reveals why his team lost

The Toronto Maple Leafs came up short again. Year after year the team seems to disappoint their fan base and this year was no different. After a historic game 4 victory over Columbus, the Leafs came out as flat as ever and could never get any momentum going in game 5. If you ask their head coach Sheldon Keefe, he thinks his team didn't have enough 'puck luck'.

A little more luck and it could have been a different result. We had some chances to score more goals than we did.

Keefe is being questioned by many about his tactics of inserting Andreas Johnsson in the lineup for game 5 over top-prospect Nick Robertson. Johnsson's first game in months after knee surgery, meanwhile Robertson showed well in camp, played in the exhibition games and was a factor in the series.

Also Keefe decided to put Tavares, Marner and Matthews together on one line for the first two periods of the game. A strange move considering the team had all the momentum in the world leading into game 5 and it meant, whipping-boy William Nylander would have to play 2nd line center. Needless to say, the move backfired.

Expect major changes to take place in Toronto, but don't expect a new head coach. Keefe will be back and will be given at least one full season to show what he can do. After that, is anyone's guess.
