Pittsburgh has received multiple offers for winger Bryan Rust

The Pittsburgh Penguins have been talking trades with several teams over the past month and mostly regarding their goaltenders. Turns out it's not only their goalies teams are trying to get their hands on, according to Rob Rossi and Josh Yohe of The Athletic, their biggest trade chip appears to be forward Bryan Rust.

The speedy winger who has essentially come out of nowhere in Pittsburgh, recorded 56 points in 55 games last season, including 27 goals which were both easily career highs. The versatile forward is making $3.5 million for the next two years and has can be traded at will.

The thing is, why would the Pens acquire Kasperi Kapanen to solidify their top-6, just to turn around and trade their best right-winger. Doesn't make a ton of sense unless GM, Jim Rutherford can obtain a boat load in return in the trade.

Keep an eye on Rust's name as we approach the NHL draft in a few weeks. There's no shortage of interest and the Jim Rutherford is never shy to pull the trigger.
