Flyers Alum, Roman Cechmanek Facing up to 10 Years in Prison

Former Philadelphia Flyers goaltender, Roman Cechmanek is in some hot water, and by the sounds of it, has been for quite some time. A report has surfaced out of the Czech Republic stating Cechmanek is facing up to 10 years in prison for fraud.

Cechmanek had a hearing lined up for last week, however, according to the report a key witness is the case was missing from court. His troubles come from some real estate contracts that were signed roughly 10 years ago and it's believed Cechmanek gained serious financial benefits illegally in the deals.

The towering goaltender burst onto the scene in Philly, finishing second in the Vezina voting his rookie season in 2000-01, after posting a 35-15-6 record and a .921 save percentage. He also had 10 shutouts that season.

Cechmanek only spent four seasons in the NHL with a pit stop in Los Angeles before heading back to his native Czech Republic to finish his hockey career.

Speaking of not the greatest moments for Cechmanek....
