Henrik Lundqvist Scheduled For Open-Heart Surgery

Henrik Lundqvist is beloved around the NHL and his latest update to the league regarding his health and sitting out the season left us all in shock. The long-time New York Ranger was bought out and signed with the Washington Capitals, where he was likely to be the 1-B goalie for the Cup contenders.

While Lundqvist provided us all with the news he wouldn't be playing next season, on Monday he gave us all an update on what's next for the veteran goalie.

We wish 'Hank' a speedy recovery and hope to see him back out on the ice to continue his career at some point.

As for the Capitals, they have signed veteran goalie Craig Anderson to a professional tryout and are expected to use the ex-Ottawa Senators goaltender as the primary backup for youngster Ilya Samsonov.
