Chicago Blackhawks Make Roster Moves

The Chicago Blackhawks took care of some internal business today involving a few big names. The team has moved youngster Kirby Dach, and captain Jonathan Toews to the long term injury reserve (LTIR) and veteran defenseman Brent Seabrook was put on injury reserve.

The moves come after Dach broke his wrist playing in the World Juniors after the team didn't really feel comfortable with him playing and he convinced them to let him go. Toews goes onto LTIR, which is the aftermath of the shocking announcement from Toews regarding his mystery illness and chronic fatigue. This one sucks because it's apparent were not likely to see Toews play at all this season.

Seabrook on the other hand is dealing with a chronic back injury that keeps flaring up on him. At 35-years-old, it certainly feels like the long-time Blackhawk will soon be calling it quits and hanging up the skates, but of course, we hope that's not the case at all and he's able to play out the remaining four years of his contract that has him paid handsomely at $6.85 million per season.

The Blackhawks are not expected to make much noise this season as the team is rebuilding. It's only a matter of time before their other big names get moved.

You'll hear about it here first.
