Toronto Maple Leafs Goalie Claimed on Waivers!

As expected, the Toronto Maple Leafs have lost goaltender Aaron Dell on waivers, as the New Jersey Devils have claimed the 31-year-old.

With the Devils losing Corey Crawford earlier this season to retirement, the team was in need of a backup to Mackenzie Blackwood who had experience and Dell fits the bill. He appeared in 33 games last season with the Sharks and could see about 30% of the action this season.

Dell signed a one-year deal with the Maple Leafs for $800,000 and ended up dressing over the weekend, as a backup to Jack Campbell. Last season for the Sharks, he posted a 3.01 goals against averaged and a .907 save percentage. Dell has 107 regular season and four playoff games.

The Devils now need to decide what to do with recently claimed goaltender Eric Comrie, who if he's put on waivers, isn't likely to make it through.
