Brenden Dillon & Kevin Rooney Drop The Gloves As Final Buzzer Sounds

Trouble began just as the final buzzer sounded in the New York Rangers 4-2 victory over the Washington Capitals. There was a scrum that lead to a wrestling match and a spirited scrap between Brenden Dillon and Kevin Rooney.
Just at the buzzer sounded, Lemieux made what seemed to be incidental contact with Capitals goaltender Vitek Vanecek. Lemieux plays with an edge to his game an did not earn the benefit of the doubt from the Rangers, especially after a tough loss.

Multiple players approached Lemieux but the referees were able to hold him back. Instead, Anthony Bitetto and Garnet Hathaway engaged in a brief wrestling match before calling it quits to watch Dillon and Rooney duke it out. Dillon is listed at 6'4", 220lbs while Rooney is listed at 6'2", 190lbs. Dillon laid an absolute beating on Rooney despite the takedown at the end of the bout. Rooney was fighting 30lbs out of his weight class and should be commended for dropping the mitts in the first place.

Here's the fight.
