Flyers Prospect Requires Surgery: Done For The Season

Despite ranking first in the East Division, the Philadelphia Flyers have been dealing with significant injuries. It appears that Sean Couturier is closer to a return than once thought, but their highly touted prospect will be out for months and likely the rest of the season.

Morgan Frost has played just 22 career NHL games including two this season. He was selected 27th overall in the 2017 draft and was the Flyers top prospect coming into this season. On January 19th, Frost sustained an injury after a hit by Jake McCabe of the Buffalo Sabres. Frost was ruled out indefinitely but it has now been announced that he will require shoulder surgery. He has been put on long term injury reserve and will likely be out for several months. The Flyers have not ruled out the possibility of his season effectively being over.
