NHL Postpones Thursday's Dallas vs Tampa Game

Yet another Dallas Stars game has been postponed due to the winter storm that is wreaking havoc in the state. The National Hockey League announced this morning that it will postpone the team's game Thursday against the Tampa Bay Lightning until further notice.

"As a result of ongoing power issues caused by severe weather in the Dallas area, and after consultation with Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson's office, Thursday night's game between the Stars and Tampa Bay Lightning at American Airlines Center is also being postponed," the NHL said in a statement.

The Stars also had their back-to-back set against the Nashville Predators that was scheduled for Monday and Tuesday postponed earlier.

Power outages have been ravaging Texas this week. At least 3.2 million customers were still without power on Tuesday night. Texas relies mainly on natural gas to power its grid. Experts say the power grid was unable to handle the unprecedented demand that outpaced even the worst case scenario projections

It's unclear at this time when the games will be rescheduled. The news comes as yet another blow to the NHL's scarred season that will surely go down as one of the most atypical seasons in the history of the league.
