Patrik Laine Comments on Being Benched in Columbus

It only took four games for Patrik Laine to feel the wrath of John Tortorella in Columbus. The Blue Jackets forward was benched just over half way through the team's latest game against the Carolina Hurricanes. While reports are starting to surface about why exactly it happened, Laine was asked about it on Wednesday and had this to say:

We've moved on. We've talked about it. It's going to stay in the room. All good now. Sometimes you say things you don't want to say. We've talked about it and moved on.

Laine went on to mention he deserved to be benched. The Finnish sniper's work ethic has and will continue to be questioned but from the sounds of this, it had more to do with his mouth than anything.

So far with Columbus, Laine has recorded three goals in four games. On Wednesday, Laine practiced on the team's first line and power play units. Doesn't seem like anything further will come out of this, but that doesn't mean we won't see more fireworks next game.
