Patrik Laine Takes The Ice With The Columbus Blue Jackets

The wait is finally over. Patrik Laine sorted out his immigration issues at the US Embassy in Ottawa, Ontario and was flown directly to Columbus before the weekend. He has completed his mandatory quarantine period and has taken the ice. Here's a first look at Laine in a Blue Jackets uniform.

We are ten days removed from the blockbuster trade between Winnipeg and Columbus. It appeared that Pierre-Luc Dubois would take the ice in Winnipeg before Laine had a chance to make his debut, but that is no longer the case. Dubois is still undergoing his mandatory 14 day quarantine period pursuant to Manitoba Covid-19 restrictions. However, Laine was only subject to a 48 hour quarantine and quickly resolved any immigration issues. He will make his debut tonight against the Dallas Stars.

Laine has 25 career points in 17 games against the Stars, which is his highest point total against any other team. He has 18 goals and 7 assists against them and is currently on a 5 game point streak in games against the Stars. Hopefully he can continue this success and hit the ground running in his debut with the Columbus Blue Jackets.
