Rumor: Goaltender Devan Dubnyk Finished in San Jose

According to Pierre LeBrun of TSN, the San Jose Sharks are expected to field trade calls on veteran goaltender Devan Dubnyk.

The 34-year-old was traded before the season started to the Sharks via the Minnesota Wild and after a shaky start, Dubnyk's bounced back nicely and is playing sound in the crease. According to their general manager Doug Wilson, the team is planning on selling at the deadline and is looking to hit the 'reset' button on their franchise. The unexpected news pissed off Erik Karlsson, who made it known he didn't re-sign with San Jose to go through another rebuild like was happening in Ottawa.

As for Dubnyk, so far this season he's appeared in 14 games and is holding a 2.95 goals against average and a .908 save %. When the trade took place to San Jose, the Wild ended up retaining some of his salary so he's currently only making $2.16 million on the Sharks' cap.

He does hold 10-team no trade protection, but is likely to be open to moving to the right situation with a contender.

Team's expected to make offers include the Washington Capitals, Colorado Avalanche, Pittsburgh Penguins and Carolina Hurricanes.
