Columbus Blue Jackets Goalie Done for the Season

The Columbus Blue Jackets will be carrying on this season without goaltender Joonas Korpisalo as the netminder will miss the remaining six games of the season due to a lower-body injury.

The 26-year-old and former third-round pick has appeared in 33 games this season, recording a 3.30 GAA and a .894 save %. Certainly not his best year and perhaps this injury has been lingering most of the season. The Blue Jackets have enjoyed an up and down season and were close to sneaking into playoff contention before the trade deadline. A few losses later and they were out of it and ended up trading away their captain and one of their best defenders.

As for Korpisalo, he suffered this injury in the third period of Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning according to NHL.com. He ends the year with a 9-13-7 record and will look to improve on this next season.

There will be a ton of questions coming out of Columbus this offseason as it will be interesting to see which goalie they protect from the expansion draft and the team is also expected to have a new head coach behind their bench when game one kicks off next season.
