Done Deal: New Jersey and Washington Complete a Trade

The Washington Capitals and New Jersey Devils agreed to a trade that sees a third-round pick head to the Capitals in exchange for defenseman Jonas Siegenthaler

This minor deal was a bit surprising for both teams involved. Siegenthaler is still only 23-years-old and has appeared in seven games so far this season for the Caps. He's a big body at 6'3 and 211 lbs and in his 97 career games, has recorded 13 points.

Originally a second-round pick back in 2015, the Capitals were looking to move on from their one-time prospect. The Devils are hoping Siegenthaler will find a new home in New Jersey and tap into the potential that saw him get picked high in the draft.

The Capitals now have seven picks in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft. Washington owns their first, second, fourth, fifth and sixth-round picks, as well as Arizona's third-round pick and Vegas' fifth-round pick.

Look for both teams to make another deal or two before Monday's deadline.
