Big Trade Expected From the Washington Capitals

The Washington Capitals were eliminated by the Boston Bruins from the Stanley Cup Playoffs on Sunday night and Caps fans can now expect some major changes this offseason.

While Alex Ovechkin is an unrestricted free-agent, he's likely not going anywhere and will be re-signing a three-year contract extension before heading to Russia to play his final couple of professional seasons. The name to watch here is Evgeny Kuznetsov.

The 29-year-old has four seasons left on his contract, paying him just under $8 million per season. A decent contract for the type of production Kuznetsov can manage including 62 points in 80 playoff games. However, the word is the Capitals are done. Management is apparently fed up with his antics which included breaking protocol this season multiple times.

Kuznetsov's 29 points in 41 games this season was a down year, but with his track record there will be tons of interest. Teams like Minnesota, Columbus and Anaheim could all use him as their number one center and will come calling.
