Johnny Gaudreau Comments on His Future in Calgary

Johnny Gaudreau and the Calgary Flames played an afternoon game to end their season and if it was up to 'Johnny Hockey' he and his teammates would be gearing up for the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Unfortunately the team struggled this season, but good news Flames fans that's not hindering Gaudreau's vision for the future.

Gaudreau met with the media to end the season and had this to say about his future in Calgary:

If Tree (general manager Brad Treliving) and the owners are happy with the way I've played, it's something we can figure out. I would love to do that. I love the city. I don't think I've ever once said I don't want to be here.

There's been rumors surrounding Gaudreau for years that he was going to sign with the Philadelphia Flyers once he got the chance. Turns out that may not be the case at all, and while Gaudreau wants to return, the Flames haven't won anything with him on the team. The Flames could decide to walk away from Gaudreau's contract demands and make some wholesale changes to their roster.

Stay tuned, we will keep you posted on everything over the course of the summer as the Flames head to the first tee.
