Rumor: Jack Eichel Demands Trade Out of Buffalo

The Buffalo Sabres have struggled for years and it seems regardless of the many changes that have taken place over the past few seasons, nothing has worked. These frustrating results have cost many people their jobs and now it sounds like it's going to cost the franchise their best player. Rumblings have surfaced that Jack Eichel has requested a trade out of Buffalo.

Moving Eichel will not be an easy task for general manager Kevyn Adams, but one things for sure, he better not miss. The deal will be a blockbuster and it will be important for the Sabres to receive back multiple pieces, don't expect any one for one 'hockey deals' here. There are many holes in the Sabres franchise and moving Eichel can help kick-start filling some gaps in talent.

The New York Rangers will be the most interested team, along with the Columbus Blue Jackets but both of these teams will have some healthy competition from other franchises for Eichel's services. Teams like the Anaheim Ducks, San Jose Sharks, Detroit Red Wings and Nashville Predators will all be in touch with the Sabres about a deal.

The 24-year-old Eichel has five seasons left on his contract that pays him $10 million per season and worth noting is the fact his no-trade protection doesn't come into effect until the 2022-23 season.  Where does Eichel end up? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
