2 Teams Who Could Sign Gabriel Landeskog on the Open Market

Colorado Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog is likely headed to a contract extension with the Avs but if he doesn't end up agreeing to terms with general manager Joe Sakic, the entire rest of the league will be interested. Here's two teams who seem like they would actually have a good chance to sign 'Landy':

Seattle Kraken

The expansion franchise would be in good hands if Landeskog ended up being the first captain in team history. A great mentor and someone who is well respected in the league to gain the respect of all the new players. The 28-year-old recorded 52 points in 54 games this season and added another 13 points during the Stanley Cup Playoffs. If anyone knows how integral leadership is, it's Kraken general manager Ron Francis. This would literally be the perfect fit, Landeskog could get the contract he feels he deserves and he gets to play for a buzzing city in brand new facilities.

Los Angeles Kings

Kings general manager Rob Blake is looking to make a splash and has the cap space to make Landeskog fit. This would be the type of move Anze Kopitar and Drew Doughty approve. Landeskog wouldn't have to be 'the man' in LA and could be a great 1-2 punch with Kopitar down the middle. If the Kings can stay healthy, adding another talented forward could go a long way for a bounce back season in 2021-22.

Honorable mention to the Columbus Blue Jackets who need a #1 center as bad as anyone in the league. And if Nick Foligno stays in Toronto for another season, they could need a new captain.
